These have been sold out on JR’s website so when I saw them in stock at the shop, I decided to pick up a bundle. Last night I took half of them out of the cellophane to hopefully speed up the “aging” process. The remaining ones in cellophane I plan to gift them out with MAWs, etc.
I was really excited about reviewing this cigar as soon as possible so I took one out of the humidor and immediately left to go to Jrs to smoke it and see the quality.
JR EDICION LIMITADA COHIBA LAGUITO NO. 4 “COHIBA BEHIKE 52″
VITOLA: 4.75 X 52
WRAPPER: ECUADOR SUMATRAN
BINDER/FILLER: NICARAGUA
COST: $45 FOR BUNDLE OF 20
SMOKE TIME: 1.3 HOURS
DRINK: DIET COKE
Construction:
The cigar has a “lumpy/bumpy” texture but no visible veins that may be a problem. In all honesty, the cigar feels well constructed and solid in my hand. There are no tears or soft spots and has a firm texture. The cigar feels very well balanced.

Appearance:
The wrapper is medium dark with a slight variation in color throughout the cigar. Not a deformity of the wrapper, just a simple observation. If you have seen the bands on the JR limited edition cigars, it’s nothing to write home about. Of course, I rather see a band simple like this instead of those fancy bands on house brand cigars that certain shops have.

Burn:
The cut with my xikar was very smooth and rather perfect. The cigar accepted the flame easily from the single flame lighter with a moderate amount of smoke coming off the foot. Overall, I found the draw to be firm and full, never trying to hard to get a good puff. The burn line on the cigar was virtually perfect except in the last third when I needed to make a large correction. I think this was because I put the cigar down for a few minutes while having a conversation with someone. The ash on this cigar is slightly delicate but nice and white.

Flavor:
The prelight smells that were coming off this cigar were amazing. It had a wonderful aroma of sweet aged tobacco. In the first third, I tasted some coco and coffee with a spicy finish. I could tell immediately that the cigar was a little rough around the edges and rest would do this cigar good.
In the second third, there was more coco with some hint of mocha and dark chocolate. During this time, the cigar begins to smooth out the flavors. I saw this as a positive sign and some potential.

In the last third, the cigar transitioned fully to dark chocolate and mocho, but in my opinion, it felt unfinished. Almost as if the flavors ended abruptly. Very odd, but didn’t detract completely from the experience.

Value: For $2 a cigar, it is not a bad smoke. I’m glad I purchased these because I need some more value cigars in the humidor.
Rating: 82
Overall:
As stated earlier, I bought a bundle of these “novelty” cigars to gift and smoke. I plan to rest them over the next 6 months to a year and see how well they age over time. I saw some potential with a mix of complex flavors to suggest that it should maintain its strength while giving the cigar a chance to marry.
I haven’t smoked the real Behike, but I am 100% sure that this cigar doesn’t compare.
I hope you enjoyed the review!
