Forbidden X Nacimiento 1912
Cost $13.25
Size 5 1/8 x 43
Wrapper is a gorgeous dark red color that was fairly firm to the touch. I would say it’s a very beautiful well made cigar with a label to match. The aroma coming off of the Nacimiento was very enticing actually similar to the Lost City and even a little similar to a Magnum Rosado. Lighting the cigar was easy as the Forbidden X readily accepted the flame. Chris and I both noticed that the cigar would go out many times throughout the smoke which was certainly annoying.
However, the flavor right after every relight was absolutely delicious, reminding us of sweetness, maybe even some raisins. There was plenty of spice throughout the cigar even at times bordering on bitterness. The ash was almost pure white, which was a sight to behold, even though it was slightly fragile perhaps due to the ring gauge (43).
Overall, it was a disappointing smoke because of the cost and how good it should have been. However, there is tremendous upside to this cigar as I believe the humidity played an important (and negative) role in the experience. Letting the remaining cigars sit for just a few months at the proper RH will bring out much of its potential.
